Paul Rogers

Paul Rogers graduated from Cambridge University in 1981 with a degree in English Literature. After five years in marketing with Procter & Gamble, he joined Bain in 1986. He is a partner in Bain’s London office and leads the firm’s Global Organization Practice. He has spent more than twenty years helping companies build and sustain high performance organizations, leading engagements in comprehensive organizational transformation; leadership team cohesion; decision effectiveness; culture change; talent management; overhead optimization; and the leadership of companywide change. Paul has helped clients in a wide range of regions and industries, with a special focus on retail and consumer goods. Besides organization, his experience includes strategy development, customer and cost management, acquisition evaluation and post-merger integration

Paul has written or coauthored numerous articles on organizational effectiveness and change leadership, including articles in Harvard Business Review and other leading journals, including European Business Forum and INSEAD Quarterly. He has been a featured speaker at Harvard Business School Publishing conferences and at numerous other business conferences throughout the world.

G. Jeffrey MacDonald

G. Jeffrey MacDonald is an independent journalist specializing in religion, ethics and ideas. His articles have appeared in Time, USA Today, MS., American Executive, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and The Christian Science Monitor among others. In 2002, he received religion journalism’s top award, the Templeton Reporter of the Year prize from the Religion Newswriters Association. The American Academy of Religion has also honored him in successive years for in-depth reporting on religion.

Jeff’s book, Thieves in the Temple, was published by Basic Books. The Christian Science Monitor wrote, “MacDonald does outstanding work … as a journalist and a minister he’s uniquely able to understand the problem from the inside out.”

Anna Rubino is a scholar and a journalist with an extensive background in covering the international oil industry from New York and Brussels. She has reported for over two decades for international publications and news services such as Business Week, McGraw-Hill World News, Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, and the International Herald Tribune.

She is the author of Queen of the Oil Club, published by Beacon Press. The Financial Times called it “an entertaining glimpse into a competitive, secretive world whose too little-known past still profoundly influences our lives.”

Anna was director of publications for CBS Inc. and a staff analyst at the Government Research Corp., a research affiliate of the National Journal.
She has interviewed at length with OPEC oil ministers, senior government officials and leading oil company executives. While reporting for Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, she traveled with Wanda Jablonski and visited oil installations abroad. Currently, she is Senior Reporter at Off The Record Research, a San Francisco-based business news service.

Anna holds a Doctorate in History from Yale University. She earned an M. Phil. and M.A. in History from Yale and a B.A. from Vassar College in New York, where she won first prize in History. She also attended the University of Paris (Sorbonne).

Stephen Schaubert

Stephen J. Schaubert was a director in the Boston office of Bain & Company. He joined the firm in 1979 and was elected to the partnership in 1980. Steve worked with clients in various industries including steel, textiles, automotive, consumer products, distribution businesses, healthcare and financial services.

Prior to joining Bain & Company, Steve had several senior general management positions in the healthcare industry. He earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School as a Baker Scholar and a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from Northeastern University. He was a graduate of Yale University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude.

He was the co-author of The Breakthrough Imperative, published by HarperCollins.
