William Thorndike, a graduate of Harvard College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Housatonic Partners, a private equity firm with $1 billion in assets under management and offices in Boston and San Francisco. Since its founding in 1994, Housatonic has made over 60 investments in private companies and has earned consistent industry-leading returns.
Will has been a guest lecturer at both the Harvard and Stanford business schools and is a director of one public company, seven private companies and two non-profit organizations. He lives outside of Boston with his wife and two children.
He is the author of The Outsiders: Eight Unconventional CEOs and Their Radically Rational Blueprint for Success, published by Harvard Business Review Press. Warren Buffett praised the book as “an outstanding book about CEOs who excelled at capital allocation.”
